What happened
Milestones Trust has completed its merger with the Ordinary Life Project Association (OLPA), a Wiltshire charity supporting people with learning disabilities. The combined organisation will operate as Milestones Trust, taking on support for an additional 27 people across Wiltshire and welcoming around 50 OLPA colleagues. Milestones described itself as a 'large but local' provider in the South West, operating across Bath and North East Somerset, Bristol, South Gloucestershire, North Somerset, Somerset and Wiltshire for people with learning disabilities and mental health needs. Chief executive Hilary Crowhurst said the two organisations shared similar values and would be stronger together, while OLPA chair Ray Edwards said the people supported and colleagues would benefit from being part of a larger organisation. The merger followed an extensive period of planning focused on continuity of support. Financial terms were not disclosed.
