What happened
Empower Housing Association, a Chorley-based specialist supported housing provider with a 20-year track record, will join Progress Housing Group as part of its specialist supported housing division, RWP, in December 2026. RWP supports over 4,000 tenancies for people with a learning disability, autistic people and people with a mental health condition. Integration of systems, processes and ways of working is now under way. Empower interim chief executive Lee Sugden said the move would strengthen its offer and help support more people in their own homes. Progress Housing Group chief executive Jacqui De-Rose and executive director (RWP & Growth) Les Warren said the combination would grow the group's specialised supported housing for people with a learning disability and autistic people. Financial terms were not disclosed.
