1. Who we are

Blakely Scott Limited, trading as Blakely Scott Intelligence and operating Learning Disability Leadership Insights (LDLI), is the data controller for the personal data described in this notice. We decide what data is collected, why, and how it is protected. You can contact us about privacy at info@ldli.co.uk.

2. Personal data we collect and why

• Account data — name, work email, job title, account type, organisation name and your role within it. Used to create and administer your account and organisation workspace. Legal basis: performance of our contract with you.
• Login credentials and session data — authentication identifiers and sign-in tokens. Used to sign you in securely and keep your session active. Legal basis: contract performance and our legitimate interest in account security.
• Content you submit — job and property listings, supplier profiles, organisation details and logos, and contact details you choose to publish. Used to publish and administer your listings. Legal basis: contract performance.
• Support and correspondence — messages, corrections requests and enquiries. Used to respond to you and keep a record of the issue. Legal basis: contract performance and legitimate interests.
• Usage and technical data — pages viewed, device and browser type, approximate location and IP address. Used for site security, fraud and abuse prevention, and improving the product. Legal basis: legitimate interests.
• Marketing preferences — where you opt in to updates, your email address and consent record. Legal basis: consent, withdrawable at any time.

Editorial content on LDLI also names senior leaders in a professional capacity, sourced from public announcements, company websites and regulator publications. We process this limited professional information on the basis of our legitimate interest in sector journalism, and we act on correction requests promptly.

Payment card details are collected and processed directly by our payment provider as Merchant of Record. We never see or store your full card details.

3. Who we share data with

• Service providers and subprocessors — hosting, database, authentication, email delivery and analytics providers acting on our instructions.
• Stripe — our payment processor, for the sale of memberships and advertising, subscription management, payments, invoicing, tax compliance and refunds.
• Professional advisers — legal, accounting and audit advisers where necessary.
• Authorities — where we are required to disclose by law or to protect legal rights.

We do not sell personal data.

4. International transfers

Some of our providers process data outside the UK and EEA. Where that happens, we rely on UK/EU adequacy decisions or on Standard Contractual Clauses together with the UK International Data Transfer Addendum, plus appropriate technical safeguards.

5. How long we keep data

Account and organisation records are kept while your account is active and for up to 24 months afterwards, so you can reactivate and so we can handle disputes. Billing records are retained for 7 years to meet tax and accounting obligations. Support correspondence is kept for 24 months. Published editorial records are retained as an archive of the sector. Data no longer needed is deleted or anonymised.

6. Your rights

Under UK GDPR you have the right to access your data, have it corrected or erased, restrict or object to processing, receive it in a portable format, and withdraw consent where consent is the basis. To exercise any right, email info@ldli.co.uk; we respond within one month. If you are unhappy with our response you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk.

7. Security

We use appropriate technical and organisational measures, including encryption in transit, encrypted storage, row-level database access controls, least-privilege access for staff, and invitation-only access to organisation workspaces. No system is completely secure, so please tell us immediately if you suspect your account has been compromised.

8. Cookies

We use essential cookies for sign-in, session security and remembering your preferences — these are required for the site to function. Where we use analytics cookies to understand which sections are useful, they are configured to minimise identifiability. We do not use advertising or cross-site tracking cookies. You can clear or block cookies in your browser settings, though blocking essential cookies will prevent sign-in. See our cookie information for more detail.

9. Changes to this notice

We may update this notice; the revision date at the top of the page shows when it last changed, and we will highlight material changes to members.
