What happened
Peter Kinsey, Chair of Iris Care Group, has won the Lifetime Achievement in Social Care Award at the 2026 Social Care Leadership Awards. Judges highlighted a 40-year career that began with helping autistic people move from long-stay hospitals into community services in 1988, and spans roles as a local authority commissioner, NHS Director of Mental Health Services and Chief Executive of National. This year he also helped launch the Digital Excellence in Care for Working Age Adults Framework and a good practice guide on preventing choking deaths among people with learning disabilities. He previously topped the Social Care Top 30 in 2023.
